Only one and a half kilometres from Balingup, and located on the top tourist road in Western Australia you will experience the adventurous climb to Balingup Heights where five timber cottages nestle in Jarrah and Marri forest offering you privacy and tranquillity, each one individual in design to cater for your personal needs. All are fully self contained with the ambience of wood fires and welcoming touches. Freshly laundered linen and feather doonas offer a warm welcome, tea and coffee are complimentary. Sit on your own private balcony extending out to the trees and soak up the feeling of being close to nature, sip a glass of local fruit wine, and take in the panoramic views of the winery, orchards or rolling hills below.
You may like to walk the forest or for those more adventurous the Bibbulman walking track runs through the picturesque town of Balingup. Blythe CottageNamed after the Blythe's, an early farming family who owned the land during the early 1900's, this cottage is located in one of the best spots on the property. It is perfect for a couple and undoubtedly a favourite with Balingup Heights regulars due to its innovative open plan design which maximises all the benefits of the views and captures the ambience of peace and tranquillity. Enjoy the warmth of the flickering wood fire from the comfort of the queen size bed, looking out on the panorama of rolling hills. The nearby kissing gate enables guests to wander down to the scenic lookout to watch the sun go down, often with a visit of the farm horses in the hopes of an apple or two. A north facing aspect makes it an ideal spot in winter or summer, catching the reflections of the sunrise on the early morning mists, or the sunset. An experience not to be missed! Frog and EaselWith outstanding views over the rolling hills of Balingup, this accommodation is a popular choice. The building itself has a heritage feel as it has been hand crafted using recycled timber. A large ground floor open plan living area with wood fire and floor to ceiling sash windows enables guests to take full advantage of the magnificant views. The bathroom and kitchen are also at ground level. Upstairs guests are enthralled by the extra elevation that the mezanine bedroom provides taking in the view of the valley orchards and brook from the comfort of your own queen size bed. A telescope makes star gazing at this heavenly spot quite an experience. Gum Nut CottageThis is Balingup Heights smaller two bedroom cottage (double and twin share) nestled into the forest. This is our competitively priced cottage and offers a comfortable choice for small families or couples. With all the internal facilities and benefits of the others, it is a good choice to use as a base and for those who like to be surrounded by forest and passing wildlife. Hepton Hill CottageNamed after the previous owners this two bedroom cottage (one queen size bedroom and one twin share room) has the glorious aspect of facing west across the Nannup Valley, where the views are sensational and sunsets spectacular. It has all the attributes of the other cottages with the addition of a second bedroom. Hepton Hill Cottage is the perfect choice for families of up to five people, or four adults traveling together. Its private location makes it a favourite choice and here, younger children receive special attention. With only one family cottage on the property, lots of extras such as the scarecrow hunt which takes them and their parents on a forest exploration to find ten resident scarecrow plaques, are available. Kimba's CottageKimba's Cottage is named after our resident kangaroo. This comfortable cottage offers a private setting nestled into the forest with views through the trees of the surrounding hills. Its large elevated deck is a perfect place to relax on the outdoor sofa with a glass of local wine. Similar to the Misty View Cottage, it is perfect for a couple and has a queen size bed for plenty of comfort. It has its own access road and leads to forest walks and an abundance of bird life. Facing east, it's the best summer choice and catches the sunrise over the early morning mists. Misty View CottageWith a large elevated deck reaching out to the large Jarrah and Marri trees, this pretty cedar cottage overlooks our chestnut orchard, the fruit orchards of Birdwood Park Fruit Winery, The Old Cheese Factory Arts and Crafts Centre and the surrounding countryside of the charming village of Balingup. Misty View cottage has one queen size bedroom and its comfortable ambience enhanced by the crackling of the wood fire, makes it the perfect choice for a couple. Its level of privacy and seclusion is enticing and its north facing aspect catches the early morning sunrise over the valley mists below. Settlers CottageThe 'Settlers Cottage' is the latest addition to Balingup Height's wide range of accommodation. Be captivated with the beautiful location of this valley retreat with the charm of yester-year. This self contained three bedroom cottage, located on its own six acres, is bounded on two sides by the Balingup and Westlington Brooks. The ultimate in peace and seclusion, (disturbed only by the sheep, goats and chickens) this property provides the ideal short or long stay accommodation. Elevated decks overlooking the property, comfortable wood fires, the heritage style (foot and claw) bathroom and traditional wood flooring throughout, all enhances the experience.
