Driftwood Estate Winery
Driftwood Estate is located on Caves Road, 10 minutes drive south of Yallingup within the wine growing area of Margaret River, a region recognised internationally for its premium wine production. The Estate vineyard had its first plantings in 1989 into pristine viticultural soil. Twenty hectares later Driftwood is now fully planted and in full production.
Warm to hot summer with mild winter is the simplest way to describe our climate (Mediterranean). The vines thrive in these conditions getting plenty of sunshine to ripen the fruit. Low relative humidity decreases fungal disease pressure helping to increase quality. The soil, climate and vineyard practices consistently combine to create quality fruit with intense varietal characteristics.
Given that the quality fruit produced from the vineyard the winery is under pressure to produce quality wine. To this end each batch of wine is made separately using different processes to enhance varietal characters and flavours ensuring stylistic wines of the regional and Estate distinction. The variety of wine styles available from the premium Driftwood portfolio accommodates this diversity and hopefully there is a wine here that appeals to your satisfaction. Cellar Door is open seven days a week from 1100 to 1630.
Located on the property is the award winning Driftwood Estate Restaurant. The restaurant resides in a Grecian building set amongst the undulating vine and is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Their extensive menu offers an abundance of fresh local produce crafted to perfection by their executive chef and his team. A long leisurely lunch can be enjoyed on the veranda in the restaurant's rustic setting and dinner guests can marvel at the colours as the sun sets over the Greek amphitheatre. The Greek style amphitheatre, completed in February 2000 for their first major concert featuring Renee Geyer, is also an ideal location for weddings, engagements, parties and anniversaries.
A trip to Margaret River would not be complete without a visit to Driftwood Estate.
