Woody Nook

Woody Nook is known not only for its wonderful wines, but also its delicious food, unique gifts, friendly staff and great value, all to be enjoyed in its attractive, rustic setting.

Woody Nook is a 24 year old, family-owned genuine boutique winery, producing just 5,000 cases of wine a year. Its 17 acre vineyard is unirrigated, resulting in intense, full fruit flavours. Over the past decade winemaker Neil Gallagher's wines have won 150 awards including 21 Gold and 42 Silver Medals. Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc are Woody Nook's single varietals wines; there are several blends under their Kelly's Farewell and Killdog Creek labels; they make a Late Harvest and Velvet Rose and then there is their 'infamous' Nooky Delight port!

Situated in the heart of the Margaret River wine-growing region of Western Australia, a three hour drive south of Perth and five miles from the Indian Ocean, Woody Nook derives its name from the property's backdrop of beautiful jarrah and marri forest.

Its Nookery Cafe serves lunches daily from 1130 to 1500; coffees, teas and cakes are available throughout the day. You may view the current menu at our website and reservations are recommended. There are several relaxing seating areas to choose from - a roofed alfresco patio by the pond; an ivy covered courtyard; a cosy indoor restaurant; a shady verandah; and a lawn, ideal for watching small children enjoy the playground equipment.

Wine tasting is free of charge and all the wines can be sampled and purchased at the cellar door. Woody Nook's gift shop is full of novel, reasonably-priced grape and wine-related gifts, many of which are exclusive to Woody Nook. The 'gallery', showcasing the work of local artist Peter Scott, is available for group tastings and meetings.
