Matthew Flinders Memorial

Matthew Flinders Memorial stands between Groper Bay and Point Matthew on the Leeiwin Road, Augusta.

It commemorates the fact that Matthew Flinders commenced the mapping of the Australian coastline from a spot out to sea from Cape Leeuwin in December 1801.

There is also the Augusta Historical Museum which tells the history of the area and the Mathew Flinders Memorial.
