Purist Gallery
Purist Gallery is a stunning new contemporary fine arts gallery set in natural bushland in the Margaret River Wine Region in the south west of Western Australia. The gallery exhibits works only by artist Penny Hudson and jeweller and object maker Max Ball.
This purpose built gallery and working studios is located only a few minutes from the popular Yallingup Beach.
The building has a 60s inspired aesthetic and was designed by Max Ball. Visitors to the gallery remark on the welcoming entry, through a large copper door, and the light filled gallery space with it's peaceful bush outlook.
Max is a practising architect and jewellery, object and sculpture maker.
Together with his artist wife Penny Hudson they own and operate Purist Gallery.
The gallery exhibits Pennys contemporary paintings together with Maxs silver and gold jewellery, objects and sculpture. Pennys paintings are held in many national and international collections including a recent acquisition by Leeuwin Estate winery. Her painting ŒRed Heart Beat was chosen for their ŒArt Series label and is on the 2001 Pinot Noir.
Max has exhibited his work Australia wide and gains great satisfaction in using local materials in a unique contemporary way.
Within the gallery there is also a colourful and exclusive shop full of Purist gifts all created by Penny and Max.
