Whale Watching
Albany is one of the best places in Western Australia to go whale watching.
Here, the giants of the ocean including southern right, humpback and rare blue whales are regularly seen on their migration to and from southern feeding grounds.
You can help protect one of the world’s most magnificent animals by recording your sightings of whales. The Albany Ocean Giants Lookout Kit provides all the details on how to get involved and is available from the Albany Visitor Centre. The kit has everything you need for land-based whale watching along the Albany coastline. There’s information about whales and their behaviour, as well as a map showing prime whale watching locations.
Best whale viewing spots include Whale World, Sandpatch, Rotary Lookout, Bremer Bay (John Cove) and Point Ann.
Albany is about a four to five hour drive from Perth.
