Black Point TourIdeal if you are interested in a full day tour, or you've experienced our half day tour before and would like to experience something different. Looking for a day tour through the majestic D'Entrecasteaux National Park? Full day off-road Adventure takes you past Pemberton's hidden treasures; and visits Lake Jasper, the largest natural fresh water lake in Western Australia, Black Point and the home of the Goblins before returning back to Pemberton in the evening. Visit the basalt columns of Black Point. Formed over 135 Million years ago by a volcanic eruption which filled the Perth basin with basalt. As it cooled it formed the hexagonal columns you can see now. Visit the Goblins - a local secret - this is where the Lord of the Rings should have been filmed... Visit Lake Jasper - the largest natural freshwater lake in Western Australia. Fed by the Yarragadee Aquifer, and dammed by the same basalt that forms the columns at Black Point, it has no streams running into or out of its banks. Barbeque lunch and afternoon tea is provided and National Park fees are included in the price. Reasonable fitness required as there is a two kilometre (return) walk to the columns from Black Point. (This walk is optional - we have a scope available for those unable to walk or during incline weather.) Departure times and itinerary dependant on tide times. Bug and Frog WalksJoin Wendy on her Bug and Frog Walks Monday and Friday evenings at Big Brook Dam. Fossick for bugs and put 'names to faces' so to speak! Frogs are learned to be identified by call and the night walk is fun for all ages. Be sure to bring a torch, appropriate weather clothing, enclosed shoes and any food and drink you may like to eat. There are free barbecue facilities available should you want to make an evening out of it. This a great tour for children and the whole family.
