The River Retreat
Located in the Swan Valley the River Retreat is set on 10 acres with views across the Swan Valley to the Darling Escarpment located 30 minutes from Perth and 10 minutes from historical Guildford and Midland.
With six self contained two, three and four bedroom cottages, rated four star, the River Retreat has many features and facilities. Aboriginal art gallery, Didge After Dark/Taste of Didge cultural performances with bush tucker, boomerang lessons and cultural activities, the Outback Show, farm animals, nature trails, visit Maalinup gallery or join in a performance or activity.wander along our walk trail along the banks of the Swan River. Or you can just sit back and relax under the shade of our majestic Red Gum trees.
Whilst staying at the River Retreat, visit the Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery and gift shop and view a superb range of traditional and contemporary Aboriginal artworks, gifts and souvenirs, bush tucker herbs, spices and sauces.
At dusk join us for "Ripping Yarns", "Taste of Didge" or “Didge After Dark” an Australian Bush tucker barbecue. Then walk to the riverbank joining the local indigenous people or our swagman around the riverside fire pit to share the stories of this land and their meaning.
Enjoy some Aussie larrikin humour at "The Outback Show" performance. These are only some of the many features of The River Retreat blending great hospitality and true Australian experiences.
The retreat is also an ideal location from which to tour the vineyards, wineries, sample excellent cuisine and visit local wildlife attractions.

Four Bedroom CottageThis spacious cottage is fully self contained and air conditioned. The four bedroom cottage sleeps up to eight guests with four king size bedrooms. King beds can be split to king singles if requested. The cottage has a full kitchen and facilities are provided with both a shower, bath and spa in your private bathroom. Enjoy valley views from your own verandah, this area is peaceful and presents an opportunity to put your feet up and just relax. All linen, blankets and towels are provided. Three Bedroom CottageThis spacious cottage is fully self contained and air conditioned. The three bedroom cottage sleeps up to eight guests with two king size bedrooms and two bunk beds (four singles) in the third bedroom. King beds can be split to king singles if requested. Full kitchen facilities are provided andyour private bathroom comes with both a shower and bath. Enjoy valley views from your own verandah, this area is peaceful and presents an opportunity to put your feet up and just relax. All linen, blankets and towels are provided.
