Gingin Observatory
See the stars and planets tonight at the Gingin Observatory! Evening and daytime astronomy experiences featuring hands on access to our telescopes and generous time with our expert astronomers in Australia’s best equipped public observatory.
Gingin Observatory is situated next to the Gravity Discovery Centre amongst a stunning display of wildflowers, pristine bushland and kangaroos on Wallingup Plain only one hour from Perth.
A stargazing night is an amazing way to end a delightful day trip from Perth to the Gingin area. There is nothing like the Southern hemisphere night sky.
A variety of special events that feature astronomical highlights are held throughout the year and specially arranged group bookings for children, primary and high school classes, scout clubs, corporate events, car clubs, seniors groups and international visitors are welcome.
Stargazers’ Cafe is available for meals.
Solar Space Tours during daylight hours are also available for groups. Special telescope filters allow visitors to explore our sun and its sun spots. See the Stars night tours operate from September to June. Bookings are essential. Please contact us for further information on the tours available.
