Gingin Cemetery

Visit the Gingin Cemetery to view a colourful display of Kangaroo Paws. Look out for the subtle differences evident in the varieties of this beautiful wildflower, one of which is believed to be unique to the area.

The Kangaroo Paw is the floral emblem of Western Australia, and has become a much loved Australian icon. The flowers are best viewed in spring, from September to November.

Gingin is one of the oldest towns in Western Australia, with settlers moving to the area in 1832. Wander around the graveyard in search of historic gravestones dating back to the early settlement years.

Stop in at the shire office to collect a brochure and map before heading to Granville Park to start the 45 minute walk.

The historic town of Gingin is a one hour drive north of Perth and makes an enjoyable day trip from city.
