James Service Anchor

The anchor is a relic from the tragic wreck of an iron barque which foundered on the Murray Reef north of Mandurah during a storm in 1878. There were no survivors and many of the victims are buried in the churchyard where the anchor was located after recovery from the reef in 1963.
