The Shepherds Grave
The Shepherd's Grave lies on the opposite side of the road to the Slater Homestead and stands as a monument to John Bentley, an English employee of George Slater. John Bentley died in about 1880 and lies buried by his own wish in the paddock he cleared. The grave is surrounded by a picturesque wall of stone which is easily sighted from the road.
