Carnac Island

The fully protected nature reserve of Carnac Island is an important habitat for the rare Australian sea lion.

Located south of Fremantle, Carnac Island is also known as a breeding area for many seabirds including a variety of Tern species, Little Penguins and many other local seabirds.

Eco cruises take you up close to the amazing marine creatures that inhabit the island. There’s even a qualified biologist on location to guide you around the nature reserve.

On a cruise to the island you’re also likely to see pods of wild bottlenose dolphins which are common in the area.

Carnac is a well-known and popular spot for fishing, especially on the eastern side of the island where there’s a sheltered bay to drop anchor.

Cruises depart regularly from Perth and Fremantle.
