Leinster, Western Australia

Leinster, Western AustraliaThe town of Leinster is located approximately 370 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia's northern goldfields. Leinster has often been referred to as the 'home of the wedge tailed eagle'.

Initially a goldmining town, Leinster is now more famous for its nickel mining, large sheep stations and provides a good look at the pastoral area and some experience of old and new mining towns. Some creeks on the old and new roads provide shady picnic sites. Please note that prospecting is not permitted on mining leases.

Leinster and its surrounding areas are home to an abundance of wildlife including kangaroos, emus and wedge tailed eagles.

The nearby historic towns of Agnew and Lawlers are also worth a look.
