Myalup is a peaceful fishing village located of the Old Coast Road 30 minutes drive southwest of Harvey. Unspoilt white beaches, safe swimming and excellent fishing can be enjoyed here.
Along the stretch of coast that includes Myalup, large sand dunes provide scenic views over the ocean and dolphins can be frequently spotted frolicking off shore.
Myalup comes from the Aboriginal word 'mya' meaning paperbark tree, which grows in abundance throughout this area.
Microbial mounds, which are the remains of thrombolites, one of the first life forms known on earth, can be seen at nearby Lake Preston. Lake Preston is situated in Yalgorup National Park, a haven to animals, birdlife and wildflowers, the park provides excellent bush walking trails.
