Trip along to Toodyay
Toodyay, 85 kilometres from Perth, is so historic that the whole town has been listed by the National Trust. Sited on the Avon River, a tributary of the Swan, Toodyay is an intact piece of the 19th century. Its lock-up wasn't secure enough to hold Moondyne Joe, the region's most notorious bushranger.
Less than an hour’s drive from Perth, Toodyay boasts some of the finest examples of 19th century history in Western Australia, with the architecture of the town still reflecting the early convict era.
