Taree is the largest town located in the Manning Valley with a population of 20,000 people.

Offering a variety of shopping with two modern complexes, arcades, boutiques, gift ware, craft centres, antiques and specialty stores.

Recreational facilities include Taree’s many river front parks, sporting fields, cycle/walking tracks, golf course, racecourse, ten pin bowling centre, aquatic and leisure centre, entertainment centre, picture theatre, rowing and sailing clubs, lawn bowling, and the adjacent Manning River.

The Manning Quays provides a large recreational area, a pontoon and jetty facilities. Kendall Reserve in Cundletown features a picnic area, boat ramp and pontoon.

Alfresco dining in the main street is the main pastime. Many clubs, cafes and restaurants use local naturally grown produce and feature a variety of cuisines on their menus.

Taree also has a variety of transport options including an airport, railway station and local bus services.
